Live lectures from space
11th of October, Beijing (Xinhua) The Wentian lab module will host a science lecture that taikonauts on China’s Tiangong space station will transmit live for the first time, according to the China Manned Space Agency on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the class is planned to start at 3:45. (Beijing Time). Chen Dong, Liu Yang, and Cai Xuzhe, the Shenzhou-14 taikonauts, will astound spectators with their demonstrations of the lab module, microgravity demonstrations of sci-tech experiments, and presentations of in-orbit plant growth studies.
Purpose is to inspire youngsters
The programme, which aims to popularise knowledge of manned space flights and inspire youngsters to develop an interest in science, will also involve interaction between the three space professors and pupils on Earth, the agency said in a statement.
The third lesson from the Chinese space station is on Wednesday. Young people’s suggestions were used to select a portion of the lesson material.
The Shenzhou-13 taikonauts from the station’s core module Tianhe gave the first and second lectures in the “Tiangong Class” series.
Invitation to kids
The first lab element of China’s ongoing space station development is called Wentian. The launch took place on July 24.
According to the agency, Taikonauts will also invite kids to conduct analogous experiments on the ground so they can understand the contrasts between Earth and space and learn how much fun such excursions can be.
